Install skills in Amp
Amp looks for skills in .agents/skills/ and .claude/skills/ in a project, and in ~/.config/agents/skills/, ~/.agents/skills/, ~/.config/amp/skills/ and ~/.claude/skills/ for all your projects.
Where Amp looks for skills
This project
.agents/skills/.claude/skills/
All projects
~/.config/agents/skills/~/.agents/skills/~/.config/amp/skills/~/.claude/skills/

Install a skill
- Copy the skill's folder, with its SKILL.md at the top, into
.agents/skills/in your project, or into~/.config/agents/skills/for all your projects. - Keep the folder named exactly as the name field in its SKILL.md, as the Agent Skills spec asks.
- Or use the Any agent tab on any skill's page here: its commands copy that skill into
.agents/skills, which Amp also reads, at the commit we checked.
What it honours
Frontmatter fields Amp reads beyond the six in the Agent Skills spec.

Watch out for
- Amp uses the first skill it finds with a given name, and it checks your personal folders before the project.
- amp skill add <source> installs from GitHub, a git URL or a local path; --global puts it in ~/.config/agents/skills.
- Amp looks up to five folders deep inside each skills folder.
