console-physics is a skill in Jakeschincariol/console-skill, last changed 22 Oct 2026. It can run shell commands and bundle scripts.

From the author
Physics Tuner. Finds the numbers that decide how the game moves (speed, gravity, grip, jump height, frame rate) and tunes them. Scans the user's own game ELF for a float32 value stored in data or built in code (lui, ori or addiu, then mtc1), shows the instructions that read it, lists frame-timing candidates, and prints the exact pnach lines to test a new value in PCSX2 plus the PS2Recomp fix (TOML instruction patches or the data write /console-mod bakes in). Reads only; writes nothing. Use when the user says "make the car faster", "lower the gravity", "jump higher", "more grip", "change the damage", "wider camera", "unlock 60 fps", "find the speed value", or when /console-mod needs a number found.

What it can touch

From the files and frontmatter at commit a508929. This is how much a skill can do, not whether it is risky.

  • Runs shell commands

Its instructions or files give the agent commands to run on your computer.

  • Bundles scripts

The folder holds code files the agent may run.

Pattern check

Pattern check: nothing flagged · commit a508929 · 3 Nov 2026

We checked every text file in this skill, at commit a508929 on 3 Nov 2026, against 45 published patterns such as download-and-run commands, hidden text and credential access. We don't run the skill, we don't read the web pages it points to, and we can't judge everything its instructions might lead an agent to do. In published tests, pattern checks like this one missed most malicious skills. Read the skill before you install it — especially anything it asks you to download or run.

How the check worksReport an incorrect finding

Format check

Each agent reads SKILL.md a little differently. We check the file against each one's published rules; we don't run the skill in any agent.

  • Agent Skills specPasses with warnings

The open format from agentskills.io, held to the strictest version of each rule among the agents we check.

    • Warning

Fields outside the spec: argument-hint (read by Claude Code and VS Code). Uploads to the Claude apps and API, and the spec's validator, reject the file; most agents ignore these fields. O1

Fix: Delete them for a portable skill, or keep them if you only target the agents that read them.

    • Note

There is no license field, so readers can't tell whether they may reuse the skill. O2

Fix: Add license: with an SPDX name such as MIT or Apache-2.0, or the name of a bundled licence file.

    • Note

Reference files over 100 lines with no table of contents at the top: reference/float-hunting.md (106 lines). B5

Fix: Add a short list of the sections at the top of each.

  • Claude CodePasses

Claude Code reads its own extra fields, ignores unknown ones, and still loads a skill whose frontmatter is broken, without its fields.

    • Note

Reference files over 100 lines with no table of contents at the top: reference/float-hunting.md (106 lines). B5

Fix: Add a short list of the sections at the top of each.

  • Claude apps & API uploadFails

Uploading to claude.ai or the Claude API, or packaging with Anthropic's script, accepts only the six spec fields and stops on anything else.

    • Error

Upload and packaging fail on fields outside the spec: argument-hint. O1

Fix: Delete them, and keep your own data under metadata as text values.

    • Note

The description is 706 characters. The claude.ai Help Center says 200 at most, though Anthropic's API docs and validator allow 1,024. D4

Fix: If the claude.ai upload refuses it, trim the description to 200 characters.

    • Note

Reference files over 100 lines with no table of contents at the top: reference/float-hunting.md (106 lines). B5

Fix: Add a short list of the sections at the top of each.

  • OpenAI (Codex & API)Passes with warnings

Codex finds SKILL.md by its exact name and needs a description; OpenAI's Skills API checks the frontmatter against the spec and caps uploads.

    • Warning

Fields outside the spec: argument-hint. Codex ignores them; OpenAI doesn't say whether its upload accepts them. O1

Fix: Delete them, or move your own data under metadata as text values.

console-backendBackend Engineer. Builds the engine room the recompiled game runs on: syscalls, kernel stubs, file and disc I/O, the IOP. Reads PS2Recomp runtime logs and turns every "Unimplemented PS2 stub", "[Syscall TODO]", missing function, unhandled IOP RPC, failed disc read and untranslated instruction into a ranked fix list: count, first PC and RA, and the exact fix tool (a TOML binding, the runtime .cpp file to implement it in, an entry point and a recompile, or a game override). With the user's PS2Recomp checkout it reads the real handler names and syscall numbers. Writes nothing into the checkout; prints a table for console/STATE.md. Use when the user says "unimplemented stub", "syscall TODO", "it crashes at boot", "fix the backend", "it can't find a file", "the IOP", "what is syscall 0x3C", or after /console-tester reports a stop.

console-controllerController Mapper. Hooks the game up to any controller: DualSense, Xbox, Switch Pro, keyboard or touch, remapped how you like. Reads a mapping in console/controls.json (a layout preset plus per-button overrides, radial deadzone, invert Y, stick swap, analog trigger threshold, keyboard keys, two players, Android touch zones) and writes console/ps2_pad.cpp, a drop-in replacement for PS2Recomp's ps2xRuntime/src/lib/ps2_pad.cpp with the same class, signature and DualShock 2 report. Optional input replay and recording for scripted test runs. Backs up the stock file before installing and only touches the PS2Recomp checkout you name. Use when the user says "my controller doesn't work", "remap the buttons", "use my Xbox pad", "Switch Pro buttons are swapped", "invert the camera", "keyboard controls", "two players", "touch controls on Android", or when /console-tester needs scripted input.

console-graphicsGraphics Artist. Rebuilds the graphics: dumps every texture, lets you repaint or replace them with your own art, finds the widescreen fix. Converts PS2 TIM2 textures (.tm2, 32/24/16-bit and 8/4-bit indexed) from the user's own extracted disc to PNG, rebuilds them from edited PNGs at the same size and format (GS registers kept, palettes refit or quantised), finds TIM2 blobs inside archives and puts edited ones back, and lists the 4:3 aspect and FOV constants in the ELF with 16:9 pnach lines to try in PCSX2. Reads the packets the game sends the GS from a RAM dump (DMA chains, VIF codes, GIF tags, every register write) and flags what breaks rendering. Writes to console/textures/ and console/patches/, never into the disc image. Use when the user says "dump the textures", "repaint", "replace this texture", "my own art", "HD textures", "make it widescreen", "16:9", "the picture is stretched", "black screen", "garbage textures", "nothing draws", or "how does the port draw".

console-levelsLevel Designer. Maps the disc's data files, unpacks the archives the levels live in, and swaps in your edits. Inventories an extracted PS2 disc (size, type by magic, entropy, a table-of-contents guess with a confidence score), unpacks CRI AFS archives and detected table-of-contents archives into a folder with an index.json, repacks them in the same order and alignment (keeping every offset when your edits fit), diffs two files or folders to show which bytes a change touched, lists strings, and reads the port's log to show which disc files a level loads. Writes under console/ and never modifies the original disc files. Use when the user says "where are the levels", "unpack this archive", "what's in DATA.BIN", "edit the level", "swap in my map", "what changed between these two files", "which files does stage 3 load", or before /console-graphics or /console-sound needs a file that sits inside an archive.

console-modMod Maker. Describe any change in plain English and Claude builds it into the game: patches, cheats, new behaviour, as code that never touches the original files. Ports PCSX2 .pnach patches to the PS2Recomp port (code writes become ps2_recomp TOML instruction patches, data writes become a C++ game override that writes RDRAM at load or every frame, the rest are flagged for a manual port with the reason) and scaffolds game overrides that bind, replace or wrap a game function with the real PS2Recomp API. Writes to console/patches/, never to the game's files, the generated runner/*.cpp or headers. Use when the user says "mod this game", "add a cheat", "infinite health", "port this pnach", "make my gun do X", "change how X works", "game override", "turn this PCSX2 patch into the port", or once the port boots and they want to change it.

console-reverseReverse Engineer. Opens your own disc image, finds the game's code and maps how it works: the boot ELF, every function, the design doc. Drives the whole port and is the entry point of the Console pack. Reads ISO 9660 images without loading them whole, reads SYSTEM.CNF and the boot ELF (segments, CRC-32 and PCSX2 CRC, IRX modules), writes a starter PS2Recomp TOML with real keys only, and keeps console/STATE.md, the memory every /console-* skill reads first. Carries the PS2Recomp rules: never clean the build, never edit generated code or headers, a build gate, and a three-strike circuit breaker. Use when the user says "port my PS2 game", "recompile my game", "open my ISO", "what's on this disc", "set up PS2Recomp", "where are we", "continue the port", or at the start of any Console session.
